Composer, performer, bandleader, multi-instrumentalist sideman, orchestrator – Sigmund Snopek III wears many musical hats and he wears them all quite well.
Since the late 60s Sigmund Snopek III has delighted in sharing his talent and creativity with audiences worldwide, both as a solo artist and with groups ranging from the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra to the Violent Femmes and Cheap Trick. His own band, Snopek was one of Door County’s favorites throughout the 70s and 80’s. Now this Steel Bridge Songfest veteran is returning to Sturgeon Bay for a solo showcase at the Holiday Music Motel.
On Saturday, March 5 the Holiday will proudly present virtuoso Sigmund Snopek III in a special concert scheduled to begin at 7 pm. A typical Snopek show features the artist’s original signature vocal and keyboard solos, highlighted by expert performances on flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, and various horns. Transitioning seamlessly through a diverse and expansive repertoire of classical, rock, jazz, prog and pop music, Snopek’s distinct compositions are characterized by memorable melodies and a rich, lyrical quality.
Snopek creates complex music that is both widely appealing and critically acclaimed – garnering praise from prestigious industry publications such as Rolling Stone and Billboard.
“Snopek’s one-man show is amazing in its use of technology; if you closed your eyes, you’d swear you were listening to a stage full of musicians.” – Milwaukee Journal.
