The Tall Ships have come and gone but the art remains… “The Lakes of Amerikey” by David HB Drake, official Chanteyman for Wisconsin’s flagship, the S/V Denis Sullivan, presenting concerts for more than 30 years.
David HB Drake provides a rich panorama of history, natural beauty and his own hand spun poetry expressed in verse and fortified with guitar, concertina, dulcimer, banjo and Native American flute. His original songs are regular inclusions on Wisconsin Public Radio’s “Simply Folk” among many other shows.
He is featured here in a video produced by our own DesignWise Studios thanks to the generous support of Door County’s Shipwrecked Brewery in Egg Harbor, performing at the Baylakes Tall Ships Festival in Green Bay on August 18, 2013. David may be found aboard the schooner Denis Sullivan and at tall ships events on the Atlantic, Pacific, and Great Lakes.
