Sculptors, artists, metal workers and anyone who enjoys the excitement of pouring molten bronze and transforming it into a work of art will want to come to the Algoma atelier of sculptor Bren Sibilsky to witness a bronze pour on Friday, October 12.

Bren Sibilsky will be hosting a week-long bronze casting class from October 8-13 culminating with the bronze pour on Friday and/or Saturday. The class features all aspects of the traditional lost wax process combined with contemporary technology. Students will create their own original wax sculpture, make a custom mold and then pour their own bronze!
The class will be held at the studio/gallery of Bren Sibilsky in Algoma. She has converted the 100+ year old farmstead into a working Atelier (school/studio) and gallery. Bren is an award winning, full-time, international sculptor and teacher with many works in private and public collections worldwide.
Instructors for the class are Ken and Mary Davidson of Davidson Artworks. Mary’s education includes a MAT from Tulane University and a MFA from Vermont College of Visual Arts and Ken’s education includes a DDS in Dentistry from Loyola University. Ken and Mary are experienced teachers and world class sculptors with numerous bronze commissions throughout the United States, such as a recent project for the City of Biloxi to commemorate the City’s tricentennial. Mary is retired from her position as the Director of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Art Department and Ken is a retired doctor.
