“If you ever have a chance to hear Mary Pierce in person, please do so! She is a very powerful keynote speaker.”
The first annual “Celebrate Women!” luncheon sponsored by the Women’s Fund of Door County will take place on Wednesday, September 1 at the Stone Harbor Resort in Sturgeon Bay. Registration starts at 11 am, with the program beginning at 11:30. Tickets are $30, available by advance purchase only.
Mary Pierce, an Eau Claire, Wisconsin writer and humorist will be the keynote speaker. Author of three humorous books for women: When did I stop Being Barbie and Become Mrs. Potato Head? Confession of a Prayer Wimp, and When Did My Life Become a Game of Twister? Pierce dispenses advice and weaves personal stories laced with wit into her talks.
Pierce will help put a spotlight on the Fund’s message that the importance of women and girls and their well-being is integral to the prosperity of Door County. That message is summed up in the tagline: When she thrives, we all prosper.
Event tickets may be purchased at the Door County Community Foundation, Baylake Bank locations, Associated Bank locations, North Shore Bank locations, Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center, Door County Coffee & Tea, Tait, Morrow & Co., and Wilkins & Olander. Since only 300 seats are available, early ticket purchase is encouraged. Ticket stubs will be used as a raffle entry.
