Photographers that participate in the county’s popular Capture Door County photo contest are planning an informal gathering to talk about photography on Sunday, July 28 beginning at 10 am at Lakeside Park in Jacksonport.
Anyone interested in photography is welcome to attend the informal gathering at the upper shelter in Lakeside Park, which will last as long as people are interested in sticking around to chat. More information about the event is available in the news section of CaptureDoorCounty.com.
The Capture Door County photo contest has had participating photographers submit more than 7,000 photos since it began in February, says Jon Jarosh, Director of Communications & PR for the Door County Visitor Bureau and administrator of the Capture Door County photo contest.
“We’ve had incredible engagement with participating photographers in the contest,” says Jarosh. “Over 1,300 users are actively submitting new photos, commenting on submitted photos and voting for their favorites on CaptureDoorCounty.com. This gathering was organized by users who all share a few common bonds: a love of Door County and a love of photography. It should be a fun event.”
The impromptu gathering scheduled for Sunday is the result of Capture Door County users wanting to get together to meet one another in person and talk about Door County and photography. The public is welcome to attend; being a current participant in the Capture Door County photo contest is not required. Information about joining the contest will also be available at the gathering in Jacksonport.
