Heating assistance through the Home Energy Plus Program is available to help Door County families afford to keep warm during the cold winter months.
Applications are being taken in Door County at WEP, Inc. until May 15, 2013. Those applying should call 920.743.7273 to schedule an appointment. First-time applicants may call to schedule participation in several New Applicant Seminars being held at 2 pm on March 1, March 15 and April 5 at the WEP, Inc. offices at Cherry Point Mall, 1300 Egg Harbor Rd, Sturgeon Bay.
Eligibility is based upon household income, household size and home heating costs to determine the amount of benefits an individual or family can receive. The program pays benefits directly to fuel suppliers, which is designed to offset the cost of home heating.
