The Jacksonport Farmer’s Market is held every Tuesday from 9 am to 1 pm at Lakeside Park through October as weather permits.
There are always the early birds who show up for the best pick of the day. Some arrive early to enjoy a morning walk at Lakeside Park. After several years, the market has grown in size and popularity. Now, more than 30 booths typically fill Lakeside Park with everything from fresh produce and bakery to hand crafted items. Beautiful fruits and vegetables, like strawberries this time of year, grown locally and picked fresh are available from local growers. Several booths highlight fresh pies, bread and cookies, ready for your table. Fresh cut flowers and potted plants are also available. Several area artists top off the market with their high quality work.
On Tuesday, July 17 a very special entertainer will highlight the Jacksonport Farmer’s Market. Jerry Voelker, well-known musician and band leader, will play for the crowd from 10 to 11 am. Jerry and Rosie Voelker reside on Clark Lake. Jerry has agreed to play again this year in July and again on August 14.
Jerry Voelker and The Jolly Gents have toured many states including Hawaii and tours globally with stops in China, Russia, Mexico and aboard many cruise ships. Jerry was recently presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award in Milwaukee at the Wisconsin Polka Hall of Fame. He will be touring again in Europe next year where he will play in Seefield, Austria. He is heard on WTAQ Radio in Green Bay for 44 years and has a wide audience who love his music. And he has released 18 polka CD’s, which will be available at the Farmer’s Market when he plays.
Come early and share a smile and a song with Jerry Voelker on Tuesday, July 17 and enjoy the Jacksonport Farmer’s Market every Tuesday.
