Ann Rankin, Occupational Therapist with Ministry Door County Medical Center (MDCMC), has earned the distinguished Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) designation after completing all required examinations and clinical studies in November 2010.

People value the use of their hands. Any loss of function through injury or disease can devastate lives. The CHT credential offers assurance to the public that the therapist treating them has achieved the highest recognition of competency in the profession of upper limb rehabilitation.
The Hand Therapy Certification Commission, Inc., (HTCC), the only organization granting hand therapy certification, is proud to announce that Rankin has met all requirements set forth by the Commission. These requirements include at least five years of clinical experience as an occupational therapist, a minimum of 4,000 hours in direct practice in hand therapy, and successful completion of a comprehensive test of advanced clinical skills and theory in upper limb rehabilitation. There are approximately 5,400 individuals worldwide who hold this marked designation.
Rankin has worked as an occupational therapist for MDCMC for over seven years. “Earning this certification has always been one of my goals as a therapist,” says Rankin. “This is a way to assure that I am providing expert care in my practice.”
