The first challenge: Help find the elusive Arctic Primrose (Primula mistassinica).
The Ridges Sanctuary team is starting to map the habitat and existing populations of these and other indicator species that make the Peninsula one of the most ecologically diverse areas in Wisconsin. The Arctic primrose is interesting because it’s a glacial remnant and a boreal species.
- locate any stands or clusters Arctic Primrose
- take a picture
- record the date and location (GPS coordinates are great but not necessary)
- send information to The Ridges Sanctuary
