Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center Wins $3,364 Tourism Grant for Groovin Sisterhood Bahama Mamas Weekend, Apr 23-25

Wisconsin Department of Tourism awards Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center a Joint Effort Marketing grant to promote its Groovin Sisterhood Bahama Mamas weekend.

“The Joint Effort Marketing grants awarded to this deserving tourism promotion demonstrates the power of travel and its ability to generate significant economic benefits,” Tourism Secretary Kelli A. Trumble says. “Every dollar awarded through the Joint Effort Marketing grant program last year produced a 10-fold return-on-investment while allowing individual communities to make an impact on their local economies and remain viable in a very competitive market.”

Now in its third year, the Groovin Sisterhood Bahama Mamas getaway will be held April 23-25 and will be a weekend for women to come together, share fun times, learn, shop and create memories to last a lifetime through a variety of special classes and activities. The Department of Tourism funds will be used for radio, television and online advertising.

“Groovin Sisterhood weekend will allow us to attract more travelers into the Sturgeon Bay area during what is traditionally a quieter weekend,” says Todd Trimberger. “With the additional funding we can reach broader markets of Northeastern Wisconsin and the Fox Valley. We intend that these ladies will discover Sturgeon Bay and come back again with family or friends for another visit.”
