DCA Screens Oscar–winning Hugo, Apr 27

Before launching its summer season of live concerts and performances, Door Community Auditorium will present a free screening of the award-winning film Hugo.
The film, directed by Martin Scorsese is based on Brian Selznick’s novel The Invention of Hugo Cabret and stars Sacha Baron Cohen, Ben Kingsley, Jude Law, Chloe Moretz and Christopher Lee. will begin at 7 pm on Friday, April 27.
Hugo traces the story of an orphaned boy who lives secretly behind the walls of a busy Paris train station and looks after the station’s clocks. When he attempts to repair a mechanical man, he is unexpectedly caught up in a mystery adventure. The film opened in 2011 to great popular and critical acclaim, winning five Academy Awards – for Best Cinematography, Best Art Direction, Best Visual Effects, Best Sound Mixing, and Best Sound Editing — and its 11 total nominations (including Best Picture) was the most for the evening.
The screening of Hugo is sponsored by the Spa at Sacred Grounds. Freewill donations are accepted.
