The Door County YMCA raised $436 for the 2009 Strong Kids Campaign with “Classes for a Cause” during the last sessions break week. A select number of the regularly scheduled classes were available during break week with an optional $3 donation to the Strong Kids Campaign.

“It was a great opportunity to try a class at the YMCA and get moving, while supporting the community at the same time”, according to Mary Claire McHugh, Health & Wellness Director. “It is definitely something we will look at offering every year during the campaign.”

The Strong Kids Campaign is the annual campaign to provide funds for scholarships and affordable programs “for all” in Door County regardless of age or financial need. In 2008, the Door County YMCA raised $355,000 to support this program and the goal for the 2009 campaign is $375,000.
